East Ayrshire Council Economic Development

Work placements can provide people with work experience and this is offered for people of all ages in training and they will receive a training allowance or a wage so there is no cost to the employer.

Employability and Skills - South Ayrshire CouncilEmployability and Skills, South Ayrshire Council’s employability team provide a range of flexible services to support young people’s transitions to the world of work. This includes extended school work experience, confidence building and personal development, work placements, one to one support and modern apprenticeships.

This is delivered through the following programmes:
Work Out! – supported vocational work placements for S4-S6 school pupils
Activity Agreements - activities such as confidence building, group work and one to one support
Employability Fund – employability training and work placements for 16-21 year olds who want to develop work readiness
Modern Apprentices – opportunities to train for jobs and future employment with around 80 occupational-areas work placements
Youth Employability Hub - Employability Support, Jobseeker Support, Young People Support

Incentives are available to support local businesses to employ unemployed young people.

RathboneYoung people have undertaken employability qualifications and are on a journey through the Employability Skills Pipeline. Young people are supported throughout work placement depending on individual needs. Young people are paid a training allowance so therefore no cost for the employer.
