In every business, and every industry, effective project management is essential. Project Managers plan and organise both resources and people to ensure projects finish on time, within their budget and that they achieve their aims. Increasingly, employees are asked to manage projects alongside their daily responsibilities – whether to implement new systems, launch new ideas or simply improve ‘business as usual’ processes.
Without formal training, project management can often seem overwhelming and many good ideas fail when it seems impossible to manage an ever-growing to-do list of stakeholders, tasks and outcomes. Achieving project goals may have become even more challenging when working remotely, in an ever-changing personal and professional landscape.
Join us for this short session to introduce some simple hacks, models and tricks to help guide your projects to success. This session will be especially useful for those taking on project coordination or leadership responsibility who do not necessarily have any formal training or experience in the area. It will also be an opportunity to share problems and solutions with other professionals in the region.
The University of the West of Scotland delivers project management training to thousands of individuals annually, including over 300 students per annum on their MSc Project Management courses. This session will be run by our Project Management academic team, and supported by the UWS Centre for Continuing Professional Development. For further information please visit cpd.uws.ac.uk
