The tour starts at the Ardrossan Terminal, sailing with Calmac on the 9.45am ferry to Brodick, coach transfer to the distillery in picturesque Lochranza, for distillery tour, tasting and lunch, where Arran members will join for lunch. Back on the coach to Home Farm, for a spot of retail therapy and an introduction to Arran Gin Distillery before finishing with afternoon tea at the popular Auchrannie Resort, all in time to catch the 4.40 pm return ferry to Ardrossan.
The popular Isle of Arran Distillery, at the north of the island has been the location of the island’s first legal distillery for over 150 years. Until the 19th century, Arran was renowned for its Malt Whisky, often made and known locally as "Arran Water". The state of the art visitor centre, opened in 1997 by HM the Queen, has guided tours, a shop and an-all day restaurant offering an interesting and appetising menu based on the best of local produce available.
Home Farm was the estate farm for Brodick Castle. It now houses a series of tourist enterprises including a cheese shop, Creeler's seafood restaurant and Arran Aromatics, the perfect stop to stock up on the famous products made on the Island.
"....The Arran Gin Team is inviting us to drop in on the scenic site of their forthcoming Mico-Distillery, on route to Home Farm. Arran's own small-batch craft gin, loaded with island botanicals is now one year old. The Gin Co has purchased land in a stunning corner of Cladach where they will house their micro-distillery and Gin School. MD Stuart Fraser will give a brief presentation of the plans for the site which is due to open next summer. Expect to see some initial groundwork and construction in a few months. Exciting plans for another Arran indie business".
Auchrannie Resort is in the heart of the beautiful isle of Arran, the multi-award winning, family owned Auchrannie Resort. Auchrannie now consists of two four star hotels, the romantic and relaxing ‘House Hotel’ catering for couples and those wanting a more intimate experience whilst the contemporary ‘Spa Resort’ is popular with families and those who prefer a more modern feel to their surroundings. In addition, the resort features 30 five-star self-catering lodges, 3 restaurants, leisure and spa facilities.
What better way to network over land and sea and view some of the delights on offer on this most special island.
