About Ayrshire Safety Group
Their members live and work, predominantly in and around Ayrshire. They represent public and private organisations such as local authorities, construction, commercial and manufacturing companies, in addition to specialist consultants.

Many members of the Ayrshire Safety Group are full-time health and safety specialists, but the Group also welcomes anyone who has a keen interest in health and safety matters, such as Facilities Managers, Personnel Managers, Quality Managers, etc.

To promote the very best occupational health and safety standards, the Group organises monthly meetings from September to May.
At the meetings, a guest speaker will present their ideas and experiences on a topic of current interest. This is followed by an opportunity for the audience to reflect and explore the presented concepts.

During the year, one of the meetings will involve a visit to a local organisation. This is to gain a practical insight into how they assessed their risks and organised their safety management system.

In addition, there is ample opportunity for networking. Our members are usually open to sharing experiences and discussing challenging situations.

The Group offers excellent CPD opportunities and can help keep members up to date with legislation changes and best practices. The Health and Safety Executive play an active role within the Group and attend a minimum of one meeting per year to offer a comprehensive update on the current climate and initiatives from an inspector’s perspective.
